The second location for library service at Alta House was a suite in an apartment house at 2022 East 125th Street, 1910-1913. It was upgraged from a station to a sub-branch.
In February 1914, Alta Branch opened as a branch in a new building on Alta House lot. The building was funded by Mr. John D. Rockefeller and deeded to the Library.
